In July 2018 Carnegie Mellon is hosting a three week AI summer school for high school students as part of the nationwide AI4All program (see ai-4-all.org for more information). On the first day of the program, students got a hands-on introduction to artificial intelligence topics (computer vision, path planning, text-to-speech, etc.) using the Calypso for Cozmo software framework.
19 students are participating in the program. The Calypso intro took place in CMU's Robotics Education Lab, using 10 Cozmo robots. Some of the students will be using Calypso for project work during the rest of the program.
